Revolutions Per Minute - Radio from the New York City Democratic Socialists of America

A Red New York - The NYC DSA Convention

Episode Summary

Today we’re discussing the NYC-DSA’s convention that occurred this past Saturday. Throughout the episode we speak with Zyad Hammad, our newly elected Treasurer for the Steering Committee, about organizing for socialism, both within the labor movement and outside of it. We also interview our two co-chairs, Bianca Cunningham and Chi Anunwa, about their experience at the convention as well as their assessment of state of NYC-DSA and how it can continue to build working class power here in New York City.

Episode Notes

The New York City Chapter of the Democratic Socialist of America is the biggest chapter of the largest socialist organization in the United States since the Second World War. We are run by our more than 5,500 members and organizers who are working together to build democratic socialism in all five boroughs and beyond. This past week we held our annual convention where we assess our progress and develop our platform for the future.
